People & Lifestyle

Frisco is a beautiful, vibrant, and modern city brimming with opportunities to thrive and resources available for professionals and families. With one of the lowest property tax rates among Texas cities, Frisco is an ideal place to live and provides a diverse range of housing types for people at all life stages. Frisco emphasizes green living and sustainability, becoming the first U.S. city to mandate Energy Star standards in 2001.

Families appreciate living here because of the nationally accredited Frisco Fire Department and Frisco Police Department. Plus, there are lots of activities available for people of all ages, including the Stonebriar Center and the National Video Game Museum. Sports lovers will appreciate living so close to the Toyota Stadium and Dr. Pepper Ballpark, while outdoor enthusiasts can't get enough of the nearly 100 miles of biking and hiking trails running through the city.

Dining, Shopping & Entertainment

The Frisco Rail Yard is the first and best park for food trucks in the heart of Frisco. A family-friendly park, the Rail Yard also features live music, outdoor games, and other special activities, along with various gourmet dishes served by some of the area's top local chefs.

Located downtown is Babe's Chicken, a relaxed, homestyle restaurant serving up comfort food classics like fried chicken and delicious sides in a rustic, casual setting. You'll recognize the building by the Hart-Parr Tractor parked in front of the building and the 1940 Simms Ford Fire Truck in the pole barn out front.

For retail therapy, Stonebriar Centre is one of North Texas’s premier shopping centers. Here you can shop, dine, and find several options for family fun. Shop the latest fashion trends at Nordstrom, Dillards, or Forever 21, and then catch a movie at the 24-screen AMC Theater with the IMAX experience. After working up an appetite from all that shopping, enjoy a meal at The Cheesecake Factory or California Pizza Kitchen.

The Star District has everything from casual dining to world-class cuisine. This Dallas Cowboys-themed campus is the best place in the city to shop, dine, and explore.

The 91-acre campus incorporates a mix of things, including the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters, Ford Center, Baylor Scott & White Sports Therapy & Research Center, Omni Frisco Hotel, and Tostitos Championship Plaza. Boasting more than eight patios, ten sports bars, and 20 restaurants, The Star District has enough variety to appease even the pickiest of palettes.

Things to Do

A family-oriented city, Frisco has tons of things to do for all ages. The Frisco Heritage Museum is a historical park where visitors can learn all about the town's rich history with various period exhibits and tours of early and mid-20th century buildings.

The National Videogame Museum is the only museum in the nation dedicated to the history of the videogame industry. This one-of-a-kind experience features over 100,000 pieces of video game software, hardware, and memorabilia. An interactive and educational experience, this is the perfect place to take your kids for a field trip or even host a birthday party!

One of the biggest draws to Frisco is the mecca of sports and entertainment. From the Dr. Pepper Ballpark to The Star to the Toyota Stadium (hosts FC Dallas soccer), sports lovers will never get bored. Golfers have their pick of courses to choose from and can join the Plantation Golf Club, which offers a championship golf course to people of all skill levels. The club is located at the center of the Plantation Resort master-planned community.  â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹
