A beautiful, scenic, and fast-growing lakeside destination.
Located in Denton County, Little Elm is a fast-growing extended suburb of Denton and a peaceful, lakeside destination with diverse housing options. Distinct, desirable, and bolstered by a beautiful natural backdrop, Little Elm is perfect for anyone who wants to live near one of the main cities but prefers a quieter, more rural way of life.
One of Little Elm's most significant draws is the lake. More than 60 miles of the incorporated township run along the shoreline, and almost everywhere you travel in town, from shops to neighborhoods to schools, has a scenic view of the water. Despite Little Elm's continuous growth, the community has maintained its sleepy vibe and reserved nature.
Little Elm officials do a nice job of striking a balance between the town's growth and small-town charms to provide an exemplary experience to locals and visitors alike. Those looking to raise a family will appreciate the clean and welcoming neighborhoods, making a fantastic place to raise kids.
Little Elm is also popular with young professionals, especially those who like living close to the city while maintaining a quieter, residential lifestyle. Outdoor enthusiasts and nature-lovers will appreciate the easy lake access, five community parks, and the many trails that run through the area.
One of the first things you must do in Little Elm is visiting Hula Hut, a local staple overlooking the lake known for its famous “Mexonisian” (Mexican/Polynesian) twist on Tex-Mex cuisine. If you prefer Asian cuisine, there is no better place to visit than Kabuki. This steakhouse and hibachi grill serves the best hibachi, sushi, and authentic Asian fare with fresh, high-quality ingredients.
Take someone special for a night out at Savory Kitchen, a chef-inspired scratch kitchen with personally crafted menus and a full bar.
For some fun in the water, the Hydrous Wake Park is a cable wakeboard training facility that takes you across 10 acres of lake. The park offers summer camps and private lessons for anyone interested in becoming an expert in the sport.
The Cove is a newly-constructed indoor water park, one of the newest to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and perfect for the whole family to enjoy. This destination district is open all year for any age group, with recreational features including relaxing trips down the lazy river and thrilling rides like the FlowRider® Double. As a destination district, The Cove also boasts other fun amenities, retail, and restaurants.
Since Little Elm resides on the lakefront, it’s desirable to those who enjoy spending time in the great outdoors. The Little Elm Beach and neighboring Little Elm Park include a picture-perfect sandy beach with ten sand volleyball courts and one of the largest open swim areas in North Texas.
Order food and drinks from the Lakefront Grill and then catch a live musical performance at the lakefront Amphitheater. This community hotspot is also where town events like the summer concert series, Craft Brew & Que, July Jubilee, Christmas at the Beach, and Autumn Fest happen each year.
Other Little Elm parks include Cottonwood Park, which features a few primitive hiking trails and access to the Cottonwood Creek Marina and breathtaking views and fishing spots. Beard Park sits near the Lakefront Trailhead, and the peaceful McCord Park is the best place to play disc golf. Across town is the 35-acre Union Park, an open oasis of green space, and the Johnny Broyle Nature Trail.
Every year, Little Elm also hosts the Big Easy 5K, a burst of Cajun flare in this little Texas town. Dig in on crawfish and other Cajun favorites, and then participate in the one-mile fun run, 5K, or 10k. The event is open to all ages.
